As part of a larger book project (A Canon for Human Flourishing in the Age of AI) our AIAI seed grant will fund the creation of “The People’s Canon for Human Flourishing in the Age of AI.” The People’s Canon will be an online resource compiling responses from members of the public about which texts they would include in canon intended to address pressing questions related to the construction of self, community, and institutions in a rapidly changing world shaped by AI. We take as our starting point that “canons” are meant to be sites of contestation and conversation. We therefore intend to curate the submitted recommendations and display them with accompanying contextual materials.
